Your product gallery might be quietly killing your conversions, and it has nothing to do with your traffic. Even if your traffic is good and your ads are profitable, static images are no longer enough. A product page video shows the one thing photos physically cannot: how the product actually looks, moves, and feels in a real hand.
Why video, specifically
Every online purchase is a small act of faith. The customer cannot touch the product, so they are quietly asking a stack of questions: how big is it really, what is the material like, does it feel cheap, will the zip survive a year. A photo answers almost none of those. A ten-second video answers most of them at once, and every answered question is a reason not to abandon the cart. That is why video tends to move conversion more than another round of copy tweaks or a new banner.
I am not speaking in theory. On my own store, The Cabin Luggage Company, video was one of the changes that helped take our conversion rate from 0.2 percent to 1.2 percent, a six-fold improvement built from a handful of deliberate moves rather than one miracle. Supplier photos simply did not show the quality, and only video closed that gap.
Why merchants skip the thing that works
There are dozens of AI tools now that turn product photos into video. Sounds great, until you try the workflow. Export the images, upload to a third-party tool, generate the videos, download the files, re-upload into Magento, then fix the formatting. It becomes a time-consuming mess, and that friction is exactly why most merchants never implement the single change that would help them most. The idea is not the blocker. The plumbing is.
How we removed the blocker
So with my team we built a ready-to-use AI video generator extension for Magento. Merchants can now generate videos directly inside Magento, from a single image or a full gallery, and enrich product pages without ever leaving the admin panel. No exporting, no third-party round trip, no formatting cleanup. The point was never the tool for its own sake, it was removing the reason people skip the change that lifts conversions most.
If you are going to start somewhere, start with your best sellers, add the video as the second item in the gallery scroll so it is seen without being intrusive, then measure. Video belongs on the product page because if the product page does not convert, nothing else matters, and it was one of the ten changes that took our conversion rate from 0.2% to 1.2%. The reason I even spotted this pain is running my own store and thinking like a merchant, and the broader rule holds: often you do not have a traffic problem, you have a conversion problem.
If your gallery is still all static images, that is where to start. Book a call and I will show you what video does to a real product page.
